If you’ve recently come across any content across our email, blog or social media channels, there’s a good chance that our Content Marketing Executive Callum has played a big part in its creation. Callum is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to inspire our customers with print across our digital channels, working with every member of the team to help make sure that he can create compelling content which our customers can resonate with.

We recently sat with Callum to learn about his time within the company so far and discover what he feels makes instantprint stand out within the industry.

How long have you worked at instantprint what have you learnt in this time?

I’ve worked at instantprint for just over 7 months now and I can’t believe how fast the time has flown! I’m privileged to be surrounded by a team who are amazing at their roles, and I feel that the standards which have been set help us all constantly develop our skills and improve. When I joined the company, I hardly knew anything about print, however, everyone both in the office and in the production facility has been extremely helpful in teaching me everything I need to know, which has been a big help for my content, whether that be social, email or blogs.

What does the average day look like for a Content Marketing Executive at instantprint?

No two days are ever the same, which is what I love about working in marketing! If I was to try and define a structure, my day starts by updating and analysing reports, to understand what is working well and identify areas for improvement. Following this, I tend to find that I’m the most creative in the morning, so I’ll start planning and writing content, such as shots to take for a video or a new blog post. After lunch, I tend to start recording videos for our social channels and ensure that the posts for the day are scheduled as expected before working on any ongoing projects and campaigns with the team. I tend to end my day engaging with customers on social media because I’m a major advocate for building communities and keeping the “social” in social media.

How does your role fit into the instantprint customer’s journey?

I certainly feel like my role plays a major part in the customer journey in several ways. Many people will find instantprint for the first time from the blog and social media content I post, which are always designed with our customers in mind. The emails you receive are written by myself and you might even talk to me on social media in the comments or through our DM’s! So although my name or face isn’t always there, it’s highly likely that you’ve come across a piece of my work.

What do you think makes instantprint so unique?

There are so many things which make instantprint so unique! From day one it’s been evident to me that as a company, we put the customer at the forefront of everything we do. From creating guides and providing inspiration for print ideas to undertaking surveys to listening to our customers' opinions, it’s great that the whole company from the top down wants to ensure that customers have the best possible experience. I didn’t understand how a large company could work with a start up mentality so successfully until I started working here, and that’s credit to the culture which has been instilled throughout the years we’ve operated.

What’s been your biggest highlight at instantprint so far?

Even though I’ve only been here a relatively short period of time, I’ve had so many highlights already! If I had to choose one, I would probably say working on the copy for the new product pages which we started rolling out over the past few months. It was one of the first projects I worked on after joining the company, and it helped me obtain so much knowledge about the different products we offer along with the different stocks and finishes available. Looking at how the product pages look now, I love knowing that I had an input in such a big change to the website.

What’s your favourite print product and why?

My favourite print product would probably be a stapled book. Growing up, my dad took me to football and rugby more or less every week, and we’d always buy a programme at the match for us to read. I kept hold of the majority of our programmes, which I still look back at now and I can picture the day that we had, so they provide me with a great feeling of nostalgia and happiness.

What are you looking forward to the most in the coming 12 months from instantprint?

There’s so much to look forward to at the moment! From receiving the state of the art machinery that we’ve invested in, to the way our website looks and the content we’re posting. It’s a really exciting time for instantprint customers and employees alike, and I feel privileged to be involved in the work which is going on. I’d strongly suggest that you follow us on our social media channels if you’re not already as we’re constantly creating content which keeps you up to date with what’s going on behind the scenes.

Tell us about your downtime hobbies or a random fact about yourself

I love spending as much time with my wife and kids as possible doing all the fun things that we can. Along with working full time at instantprint, I’m studying part time towards a degree which has been really helpful for my career development and the opportunities which have opened up for me. Outside of all this, I’m a massive sports fan, and can often be found watching football and rugby league up and down the country. If I’m not at sporting events, I’m often found watching live music, as I’ve got a major passion for watching up and coming indie bands.
