In this client spotlight, we had the pleasure of speaking with the team at Carr Bank Wedding Venue, a remarkable estate with deep roots in Mansfield’s history. Originally built in 1805 and once home to the Duke of Portland, this stunning venue has been thoughtfully renovated to host weddings and special events. Since opening its doors, Carr Bank has seamlessly blended its historical charm with modern elegance, making it the perfect backdrop for unforgettable celebrations.

Who are you, what do you do, what’s your history, where did it all start?

Carr Bank House, now Carr Bank Wedding Venue, was built around 1805 by the Stanton family. The estate was later sold to the 4th Duke of Portland, who played a key role in shaping Mansfield. The Allotment Commissioners leased land from the Duke, creating the town's first public park. After WWI, the 6th Duke sold the house and grounds to establish a memorial park. The war memorial was unveiled on 4th August 1921, and the park opened to the public in 1924.

We have now taken over this beautiful house and transformed it with a modern twist to accommodate those looking to host unforgettable events. Primarily a wedding venue, we have hosted over 100 weddings since 2022. We also welcome other events, including parties, corporate gatherings, and wakes.

Our venue features a stunning ceremony room, perfect for exchanging vows. The elegant ballroom is ideal for a wedding breakfast during the day and transforms into a lively dance floor for evening celebrations. Guests can enjoy a fully stocked bar offering the finest drafts, cocktails, and spirits. For those needing overnight accommodations, we provide seven luxurious rooms upstairs, ensuring comfort and convenience for your guests.
