The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey!
A huge celebration that will take place all across the country, you can expect street parties to rise in popularity and no street party is complete of course without print!
Organising Your Get Together
Planning a street party is a super fun experience, but there are a few rules and regulations to be aware of!
Government street party rules include:
• Street parties are for residents and neighbours only
• Publicity is only for residents
• Your street party should take place in a quiet residential road, block of flats or local green space
• It should be self-organised
• No formal risk assessment is needed, just consider the safety needs of those attending
• Often, licences are not necessary unless the sale of alcohol is involved. If you plan to sell alcohol you will need to check whether you need a Temporary Events Notice
• You don't normally need insurance
• The Licensing Act 2003 does not require a music licence for a street party
