Savvy consumers are ditching the standard Christmas Cards in favour of printing their Christmas cards online this year, saving hundreds of pounds in the process.
Online printer instantprint, priced for bulk orders from commercial clients, has noted a 20% uptick in year-on-year Christmas card sales, with 1 in 5 orders being placed by families rather than its B2B target market.
In a recent poll, instantprint uncovered that 40% of consumers are willing to spend up to £3 on Christmas cards for loved ones, which for 50 cards would cost an eye-watering £150 each Christmas.
Buying in bulk has saved Christmas card shoppers, as they can get their hands on the same number of cards for as little as £37.61 – a total saving of £112.39 (74.93%).
When tasked with investigating trends driving the Christmas card sales, instantprint’s Studio Manager Jessica Williams reported an uptick in families ordering Christmas cards with professional family portraits.
On her findings, Jessica commented “I was so surprised to see that families were using instantprint to print Christmas cards with professional photography as this is not our usual audience.
We’ve seen some beautiful artwork coming through and the team have been on hand to help with artwork set up to help our customers create a professional level of quality.”
One customer who ordered 200 Christmas cards at 31p each ahead of the holiday season was new Mum and NHS worker Anna Roberts (pictured below).
Anna said the following “I’ve always loved the idea of issuing a family Christmas card but always assumed it would be too expensive. A quick online search was enough to prove me wrong!
“Personally, I have a lot of older relatives who miss out on seeing photos I post of my son on social media so having a Christmas card printed is a great way for me to share photos with loved ones. Working as a nurse in the NHS, I’ll not see my family as much as I’d like to so this is a great affordable personal touch I can post to loved ones this Christmas.”
For a savvy way to save money on designing the Christmas card, Ms Roberts took advantage of instantprint’s free Christmas card templates which are available to customise online as part of its Design Online tool.
