Top Tips for Checking Your Artwork Proof
1. Run Your Copy Through a Spell Check
Whether you use the spellchecker function in Microsoft Word or install software like Grammarly on your computer, getting a digital second opinion on your spelling and grammar is a great way to avoid errors in the text or copy of your design.
2. Ask a Friend
Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is all it takes to spot an error – whether you’ve spelled someone’s name wrong, put an incorrect date or you’re missing a full spot. Ask someone else in your team or a friend to go through your design with a fine-tooth comb.
3. Do a Test Print
It’s only when you get your design printed out that you notice something glaringly obvious that’s wrong. It can sometimes be easier to spot mistakes once you’ve printed out artwork out. Run a test print of your design on your work or office computer and check the printed version.
What We Don't Check
Our team only checks the print-readiness of your artwork: we don’t check the details.
That means if you have any spelling errors, or incorrect contact information, it’s up to you to spot the mistake before you approve your proof for print!
If there is such a mistake, and you spot it before approving your proof, the Studio Team can make an amend for you, provided the file you’ve sent is editable and uses an embedded font.
They won’t, however, make any major changes such as moving graphics to different pages or changing the layout of your artwork. You’ll need to go back to your designer for that!
